Opeth
with The Eternal
23/4/2006, The Forum, Melbourne.
No review I'm afraid, other than to say Opeth came out and yet again delivered more than my already high expectations. I jumped around in the mosh like an idiot, and loved the setlist, the venue, the sound and the banter. Lopez (drummer) had a fill in, which I was initially a little concerned about, but on hearing the first track, had no concerns after that. Songs were played perfectly, banter between songs was again really entertaining - Michael Akerfelt is a great frontman. That's it. Opeth rules.

Setlist (about a 2hr show);
  • Ghosts of Perdition (from Ghost Reveries, 10min)
  • White Cluster (from Still Life, 10min)
  • The Amen Corner (from My Arms, Your Hearse, 9min)
  • The Baying of the Hounds (from Ghost Reveries, 11min)
  • Under the Weeping Moon (from Orchid, 10min)
  • Closure (inc. a huge jam, from Damnation, 10min)
  • The Grand Conjuration (from Ghost Reveries, 10min)
  • The Leper Affinity (from Blackwater Park, 10min)
    ... encore ...
  • Deliverance (from Deliverance, 14min)
Great setlist - only one song repeated (Deliverance) from the last tour. Can't wait to see them again (hopefully in a year or two?)
