Update
Well, it's been a pretty big week all round. Starting with work, I've been doing staff reviews all week, which has meant an hour prepping everyone's performance documents and feedback, an hour meeting with people talking through the document and then the required followup work. I'm about half way through the process so far. It's been enjoyable to sit down with everyone, take a bit of time to discuss where they're at, where they want to go, etc. My team contains some really great guys (and gals) - very happy with that. Also on the work front, we managed to sign up an old friend/colleague of mine, Darren Deason to start in January. I'm really excited about that - he's a smart, considered, professional consultant - I'm really looking forward to seeing how he'll fit into and add to the culture of OBS. And I've been planning my outfit for the OBS Xmas party next weekend. It's a "Miami Gangster" theme, which should be a barrel of laughs. I think I've got something sorted out, a few details to iron out though. Other than all of that, work has just been busy - lots of things going on (which is good).
On the home front, in the past 2 weeks we've had flyscreens, blinds and security doors installed. Today we had a painter come around to do some touch-ups on a few minor cracks in the cornices - it looks awesome now. We've also had a service on the hot water service, which is now pumping ultra hot water :) And we've got the tiler coming on Monday to sort out a few minor grout issues, which will pretty much rectify everything on our "3 month defect list" from the house.
On the family and friends front, Steph's sister returned from London on Thursday night. We're heading down to Steph's Mum's to put up the Xmas tree tomorrow (and for Aurora to see her Aunty again). We had a nice time at the combined 2 year old birthday / moving away party at the Leonard's place today. I'm quite excited for them moving into their own place. And there are plans afoot to have some interstate friends over for New Years EVe... I am REALLY hoping that works out... but we'll see.
So, times are busy :)
