It's over...
This week, this day is finally over. I didn't think it would get here, but it did. We are now the proud owners of a new house!! Janet St has officially been handed over, they have the money, we have the keys and a working house (with appliances). Phew! The last 3 weeks have been rather rocky (as some of you might know), but nothing compares to the relief of having the house finished and the drama behind us.
Other than that, it's been a bit of an up and down day today. It started with a massive downer (in that the handover DIDN'T happen first thing this morning; the appliances weren't installed, it was a shambles). Both Steph and I were livid beyond words and I feared we wouldn't get it sorted today.
My day improved having lunch with Bisho - that was nice - I haven't seen him in a while, and it's always good to catch up. I do enjoy our chats over lunch.
Then of course I had to do some work today... some bad work. Reporting, crunching numbers - it was just trying to cram about 14 hours work into 8 which really annoyed me. I was working to a deadline... made it in the end.
The final bad news of the day resulted in me realising that today was Laith's last day at work. Laith is an amazing guy and a great friend. He'll be sorely missed at SDM, but I do look forward to keeping in touch with him and seeing how he grows his career outside of SDM.
It was time for some good news again, and the handover of the house happened at 5pm today.
Now, the night ahead is looking up. We bought a Nintendo Wii yesterday (at Target's toy sale), so I'll be setting that up after bath and story time and we'll be having a play. We've got 2 controllers, Wii Play, Lego Star Wars, a Wii Fit, Guitar Hero and the "Gamer pack" (chargers, extra straps and skins, etc.), so I think we're pretty set. I'm looking forward to it (particularly Guitar Hero)
I'm glad the day (and week) is over.

Good luck with your new house mate.
Timber frames and a tin roof - they don't build them to last anymore.
