Technically he's now my business partner...
Just had a good dinner with Bren, a mate who I don't nearly see enough of. He's a funny guy, and one who's not too bad at cutting a line of code either. Anyway, he opens the conversation with "By the way, did I tell you that I work for Microsoft now?" (knowing full well that he hasn't told me, smartass... heh). Anyway, as it turns out, the company he works for in Thailand (for which he mainly works for remotely from here) was acquired by MS a month ago. Nice! Quite ironic also in that Bren has always been a bit on "the dark side", cutting code in both Java and .NET. Guess he's now (forcefully) seen the light :) He'll do well there anyway, and realistically, it doesn't sound like a whole heap is going to change for him. In essence, sounds like MS bought themselves a healthcare solution (Bren worked for GCS - who produce a software suite used by major hospitals throughout South East Asia). Interesting turn of events...
