The "almost done" post
Yep, it's pretty much over with the exception of the concession and victory speeches (which I'm very much looking forwards to). It's been a great night - a very enjoyable journey.
Andy, like the majority of 18-30 year olds, you were eager for a Labour goverment. Trouble is, this generation cannot remember the last Labour government. This eagerness will wane I suspect over the next 2-3 years. Rudd won't fix anything, he will bring Australia into a recession.
Anonymous - why are you always such a hater? Is your life really that bad? I see your comments everywhere on the web, and they're always really negative. It saddens me.
I do remember the last Labor (note spelling) government. And I certainly remember the recent years of Iraq, Tampa, healthcare and education. It is incredible to think that someone out there still believes that a single man (or party) can bring a country into recession. I think there's probably a bit more to it than that (reserve banks, inflation, employment markets, world trade and markets, droughts for example). Then again, these people who believe in the single man (or party) recession, tend to be the ones who believe a single man (or party) can keep interest rates low.
Anonymous - it's going to be OK. You're going to be OK - you just got outvoted, that's all.
