Memory
I was going to start this blog entry with "I can't remember if I've blogged this before..." Mildly amusing.
Honestly, I'm getting concerned with my long term memory. It's just not what it used to be. I'm constantly amazed by my brain though. It (note I'm talking about my brain as "it", not a part of me - an interesting psychological note) remembers minute details from certain aspects of my life, I (back to me now) can remember a billion different words, what they mean, how they're spelt, but I can't remember significant portions of my life, or "milestone" events. For example, I can't remember a single birthday before the age of about 18. I know I had them. I know I even had some parties, and probably some really good presents. I just can't remember them though. I can't remember the names of a lot of my high school teachers. I get scared that I'm not going to be able to remember other things in time as well - like my wedding day, our trips overseas, or the moments I currently cherish with Aurora. That's why I have this blog, and why I need to write more. And I need to crank out the video camera as well to capture some of the moments with Aurora. I get concerned as well, as I don't think this happens with other people (they seem to be able to remember easily). And whilst I like to think my brain IS different to everybody else's, sometimes I get worried when it is...
Maybe I'm a replicant. Keep an eye out for origami unicorns.
