I am lucky. And smiling.
I have many amazing friends. I have many talented, caring and in this case, extremely funny friends. Tonight's case in point is Skogg, who has managed to make me audibly chuckle a few times in a few weeks. First up, was discovering his "other blog" here a few weeks back. What kind of guy starts a blog on a travel site, only to blog about how he's not travelling. It's pure genius. His blog, in complete deadpan, exudes the mundane. I love this part;
might go grocery shopping tomorrow. wont go and visit any intriguing mountain tribes, drink some bizarre wine or climb down a tunnel, although i guess i could go and visit some weirdo market up in the dandenong hills, get sick on some chilli wine and investigate the stormwater/creek thing under the eastern freeway... hmmm.
Tonight, I jump on Facebook (I still get overwhemed by that thing and eventually get lost / give up trying to do anything) and whilst surfing around, manage to come upon his profile... and actually read it. He lists, amongst his favourite movies, a video tape of random footage we shot whilst living together in a share house in 1997, mainly of him doing stupid things and us playing frontyard cricket in the summer. He christened the movie "Slightly Amateur" (and the Slightly was certainly an understatement). That, to me, is pure gold. It's such an "in-joke", but it's one that will put a smile on my face for the rest of the night. Excellent stuff.
