Happy Birthday Skogg
So, today is the birthday of Scott Thompson. A reasonably inconspicuous name by all accounts, however I could spend the rest of this entry just describing the background behind the aliases and stupid names made up for him by his idiotic friends (myself firmly included) with a few even bestowed upon himself. I will refrain though, and only mention that he has been called Skogg, Eagle, Count von Skogg de Ferdeysen, Evil, Ginger Haired Pussycat, Ferdeysen, Daemon, Puddleduck (or was it Jemima?), ksogg, aroofusfishy and the twit, to name but a few. And his imaginary friends (notably the badger, the "little people" and a few incarnations of dolphins in various states of distress), if able to talk, may contribute something significant to this blog entry. As you are probably getting the impression, Skogg is truly one of a kind. And that's why he is so awesome. Skogg is, in all honesty, an incredible inspiration, a true friend, a shy intellectual, a curious spirit and now a loving and dedicated father. Don't get me wrong though, he has his bad sides... he can be incredibly frustrating and has a history of doing some of the most stupid and disgusting things I've ever seen (though some might argue this is an integral part of his charm). I have some great memories with/of/involving Skogg over the past 13 or so years. I remember walking home with him, very late one night from a Pantera concert in 1994, both so pumped and energised. We found some wet concrete and left out names in it (I wonder if it's still there?). I remember him having trouble at the Soulfly gig and having to return home even before the main act hit the stage (very disappointing for all involved). On that thread, Skogg does have the sole honour (yes, not even Aurora has managed this yet) of being the only person to vomit on a computer I've owned. But enough with the embarrassing stories - Skogg is a great person to have in your life. I love that he's comfortable enough to be himself with us (the crew). I love that he derives such joy from the creative process, and sets aside to indulge this (an enviable quality in my eyes). I'm constantly impressed with him keeping up with his amazing wife's social calendar (phew!). Skogg is an eccentric, an individual and a good friend.
So here's to you Skogg - Happy 30th Birthday, and here's to many more!

Thanks man, and i forgot about the computer keyboard thing. but now that i remember, all i can say is don't eat a lot of coconut if you're up for a big night- it's almost as bad as self raising flour on the throat.
Yes, I thought about mentioning the Puff the Magic Dragon stunt - one of my personal favourites to be sure
