Weekend roundup
Had a great night last night (and thanks to all who came down to say "Happy Birthday, etc.") at FAD gallery in Chinatown. We lined up Steph's Mum to babysit and headed into the city for dinner, drinks and dancing (mostly in that order). Unfortunately our dinner out was pretty shit - give "Golden Orchids" a miss if you're in Chinatown. Was good to have a few drinks though and a little bit of a boogie. And good to connect with a few people I hadn't seen in a while :)
Got home at about 1:30am (considerably late for both Steph and I to be out), in bed by 2am. I had the morning shift with Aurora, who woke up surprisingly early (she must've known!) at around 8am. Luckily I wasn't that hungover, as I had the dubious honour of dealing with a tremendous poo explosion in her nappy. How such a little person distributes that much substance with such force is still a mystery to me.
Other than that, the day has been a good one. My mum came by and dropped off a bunch of crap including my first computer (the Commodore 64) and my first PC (a 386). The 386 I fired up (no doubt you heard it wherever you were sitting - the hard drive sounded like an air raid siren), loaded (... and loaded ... and loaded) up Windows 3.11 and took a tour. Truly terrifying stuff. And crunching along with a mighty 3mb of extended RAM. Suffice to say, the machine has now outlasted it's novelty value and is in the designated hard rubbish pile. The C64 is what I'm really excited about, I'll let you know how I go (will probably get around to it later this week)
