Happy Birthday Pauly

It's Pauly's Birthday today! I've known Paul for a long time now (well at least about 7 years)... I've even lived with him a couple of times, so I think it's fair to say I'm in an OK position to make a few comments about the man. Paul is an incredibly special guy. He's truly a unique human being, and that's why I'm so glad he's part of my life. Paul is such a genuine, interesting person, and he has a huge heart, mind and presence. And he has such a chequered past, some of which I've been privy to, some not. He has some mindblowing stories to tell. He has the most intriguing resume I've ever seen. He has a wicked sense of humour, and laughs at most of my jokes (a good trait in anyone I say). Paul hides his talents sometimes, as he's quite modest. He's also a disarming character (in my opinion) - someone you can feel instantly comfortable with. I love the way Paul walks - especially when he's on a mission - it's this forward tilting, lumbering style - yet its quite graceful (despite my description). I covet Paul's hair (it's terribly thick and lustrous) and am frequently amazed at what he can "get away with" with his fiance, Imogen. I say that tongue in cheek though, as I know he loves her quite a lot, and she, well, she's a great girl, perfectly matched to Paul. And Paul likes great music too. He's been a frequent concert buddy of mine over the years, and it's always a comforting feeling hooking up with him to see a band - I'm not sure why - it's just his energy really. Paul is someone I really don't see enough of.

Anyway, that's the round-up on the irrepressible, individual, impressive Paul Cowling.

So, here's to you Pauly! Happy birthday and many more to come!
