Random thoughts

Well, this fatherhood thing is going well. But I haven't blogged in a while - sorry about that. Here's a post full of random thoughts for those inclined to read on. Aurora is gorgeous. She's just a beautiful baby, I love her to bits. She's sleeping relatively well, and I'm (much to my shame and Steph's frustration) able to sleep through her cries in the night. This is something I was concerned about - about being a zombie on my return to work, but now I'm more concerned that I'm not being supportive enough of Steph on those graveyard shifts. But literally, I'm out cold, usually waking about half way through them to find Steph not in bed, up feeding Aurora.

I've been eating far too much and exercising not at all. I've rarely left the house in the past 2 weeks, and when I have, it's been a mad dash to <<>> (e.g. Bunnings, Safeway, Clive Peeters), trying to return home asap. I think I'm going to have trouble being distinguished from a house soon.

Did some work today, which was good, after being off the airwaves for so long. Also means I just got back one day in Annual Leave (as I was pretty much going to use up every single day on this little break with Aurora). I always like to have a few days up my sleeve, just in case...

Been thinking about my 30th birthday (which is still 4 months away). I have a good idea of what I want, but have yet to mention it to anyone. Might tell Steph soon (we'll see). Steph's 31st in 2 weeks. I'll be in Adelaide on that day - but at least returning home that night. That sucks a fair bit. But, can't be helped.
