So, today is Mark's birthday. I know so many Marks (just counted - there's 11 in my phone, and probably a few more in the address book), but there's really no one like this one. Otherwise known as Ozzie (something I've never called him, but I think it suits him well as a nickname), Mark O (as he is known in my email contacts list) is uniquely Mark. Enough already describing his name! What about the guy. Well for starters, he's a nerd. Yep, reads slashdot, knows Delphi, probably can quote Hitchhikers, etc. Has his own website, purely for non-productive purposes (much like myself). Secondly, he's a great thinker. Ideas and his spin on things keep me greatly entertained and amused when we're out at dinner. Thirdly, he's led a good life - not one where everything has been good - I mean one with some great experiences, good and bad, one with things that have really shaped the man we know now. And that's what you want in a life I think. Mark has a wicked sense of humour, and gives some of the best presents. I would not be surprised if Mark invented something akin to bubble wrap, or post-it notes, and made a million dollars on it. Although he's never been a really close friend of mine (more a close friend of Steph's), I've always admired and respected him.
